Just some musings about the weather
It has been raining for two days here.
This morning I woke up late and made breakfast. The windows were open and the air was fresh and thick with vapour carried from the ocean over the mountains. It is the kind of cool air that seeps through your clothing and gives you goosebumps. I sat by the window and watched the sea of coloured umbrellas float by my window, seemingly unattached to a body to carry them. I jumped in the shower and got dressed. I refuse to wear a raincoat or carry an umbrella. If god intended us to stay dry all the time it wouldnt rain. I left my hair wet and "untreated" with straightener knowing full well it would be wet again within 30 seconds of evacuating my building. Against the grey backdrop of the clouds and mist the brilliance of the green trees and deep crimson blossoms soon to be apples seem to vibrate.
I walked up the street past the dozen people squished into the bus shelter trying to avoid the rain. Half a block and already the water was streaming off my brows onto my eye lashes, around my nose to pool at the creases of my lips. My hair was thick with water and I could already feel the absorbed weight of my clothes. It was cleansing and soothing. I didnt mind one bit.
I turned the corner and walked down the street oblivious to the puddles I trodded through and only noticing the occasional on-looker as I passed them trying to avoid the puddle I was sloshing through.
